Litteraly, thse beach is part of my area. I have been asigned here as a Zone Leader. My companion is Elder Santos from San Ana California. Both of his parents are originally from Mexico, but he was born and raised in California and is super awesome! We together and Leaders over a Zone of 24 missionaries. I am working really hard to get to know them all, as well as all the members and investigadors in my new area! I am super excited about this new oppurtunity, and there is a lot of work to do here!

I love this gospel, and I know it´s true! I love you all! The message for today is short,
"Behold, I sent you out to testify and warn the people, and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor" (D&C 88:81).
Let us all warn our neighbor! This warning, is sharing the truthfulness of the gospel!
Love you all, sorry, not time!

Miracles!
Helo everyone! Wow I can´t believe how fast time is flying! It is now almost August, we have changes this week, and I have been here in Copan Ruinas for 6 months. We still don´t know what will happen, but most likely I will be leaving, but the Lords will be done!

The big news of this week is we had a Baptism here in Copan Ruinas!!! His name is José Aroldo Ramirez Rodriguez! We don´t have any pictures because he asked that we don´t take any, but Elder Hurtado and I were verry excited! He is a great guy, and really has such a great desire to follow Christ! The truth is this week was a crazy one. We decided to visit him every day this week to help be preapared to make this big step in his life. Starting with Monday we had a family night with Him and a member family. It was great, and He was verry excited. Then Tuesday when we came he wasn´t there and we had to go to another appointment, so we weren´t able to meat with him. Then Wednessday we passed by Famila Hernandez, and they told us that he wanted to talk to us, becuase he had some doubts. We were able to talk to him, and He told us that he had had a hard week. He told us he did´t feel super good, as well he hadn´t slept becuase he had had nightmares, and many people were telling him not to go through. He told us he wasn´t sure. We encouraged him to keep reading and praying. Then Thursday again, we passed by and he wasn´t there. Friday in the morning we called Familia Hernandez, and they told us that thursday in the night Aroldo brought all the books and told them he didn´t want to go through with it. My Companion and I were devistated. We prayed alot that morning, and then in the afternoon, after an appointment we prayed as a companionship asking God to help us find him, and to help him feel in his heart the truth, and to not fall into satan traps. We went looking for him, and ran into Jesus, the son of Julian. He told us that Aroldo came back and said he made a mistake and he wants to keep going, he is just confused. Julian was able to talk to him and share his testimonio as well as explain to him that Satan always works the hardest when we are about to make a good desicion! After this we were able to talk some more, and he wanted to keep going, and he told us he knows that it is true. Then Saturday he was baptized, and Sunday Confirmed!
My companion and I were able to learn so much from this experience! The most important is that God loves his Children! And God answers all our prayers. Also that the members or friend are so important in the conversion. In this story, without Familia Hernandez, and don´t feel that Aroldo would have been able to overcome all of the temptations of satan, but with the help of a true friend, and a true servant of Christ all things are possible!
The other big news of this week is we put a Babtismal date with Karen and Fabiola! They are 2 youth, who have truly been reading the Book of Mormon and Bible, and praying and asking God for wisdom, and have recieved thier answer! They have both told us that they believe it is true, and Karen told us that she had a dream, and was reading the Book of Mormon, when a Dove came and made the letter S-I (Yes) with sticks on top of the Book. She said that when she woke up she was full of Joy and said it´s true!
I love this Gopel! There is so much work to do! I know God loves each of us! He answers our prayers!
I love you all! Have a great week!

High Love and High Expectations
Helo eveyone! I hope you all are doing well! First thing first, I hope you are all enjoying your summer, and I love you all so much! I can´t believe how fast time is flying by. It´s already July. I can´t believe it.

Well, this week was a great week in Honduras. I am so grateful for a father in Heavan who loves us, and cares about us. On monday we had a P-day with the Copan Zone and President and Hermana Bush. It was lots of fun. Although, what made me most excited was that Elder Dixon brought a football. It felt so great to play a little football again! But then tuesday we had a Zone Conference, and I was able to learn so much, recieve many answers to my prayers, and the most important feel the spirit and love of God.
From what I was able to learn, what most struck me was the importance of teaching with the spirit. The Holy Ghost is the teacher, and we are the instruments. We also talked about the importance of having a lot of love and high expectations towards our investigadors and all people in general to help them change. I found the comparison especially interesting because God the Father is our perfect example. He has the greatest amount of love, and showed this love by sending his son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins (John 3:16). He also has very high expectations, as a matter of fact, he expects us to be perfet, even as he is perfect (Matthew 5:48, 3 Nephi 12:48).
I truly believe, that as we love our fellow men, and have high expectations for them, allowing them to make there own decisions these people will have the desire to change, they will have the desire to do the right.
The rest of the week went well, and we are extremely excited for our investigadors! One of our investigadors, Haroldo is going to get baptized this saturday, Alma the 29th, and we have another family that is progressing alot, and we want to put a date with them this week! I love the mission work! I know this is the work of God!
I know that this is the church of Chirst! I know that Christ lives, that he payed for our sins to give us the oppurtunity to change, to repent, to come unto him. I know that he leads the church through prophets and apostles, as he has done so from the beggining of times! I love you all! As sons a doughters of our father in Heavan, he wants us all to come home. As your brother, I invite you all to follow Christ, for he is who will guide us there!
I love you all! Have a great week!

Faith and Works
Helo everyone! I hope all is going well! This week has truly been a great week, and Elder Hurtado and I just keep working hard. We have really been trying to work on strengthening the members in the branch as well as helping our investigators learn and progress and come to church.
This week we have been able to see some miracles, and start to see some progress. We now have 2 investigators with a baptismal date! We are really excited as are they. One is Alma Carranza. She is the wife of a member. They are really great. She always goes to church, they just have some problems with marriage papers, and she has to look for an answer. They have had some problems with their marriage, but they are doing better now, and I know that as they both come closer to the lord there relationship will improve as well. The other is named Jose. He is a great guy! He has know gone to church twice, and likes it, and really is curious to learn more and follow Christ!
We are continuing to look and work with other investigators as well. We are working with another family that is great! They said they were going to go to church, but not sure why they didn't. They have been reading the Book of Mormon, understand the message of the Restoration, and have a great desire to learn more.
Life really is great! I love the mission! I love this Gospel! This week I have been able to learn so much as always, probably the biggest think that has amazed me is all of the connections in the scriptures. I love it! Everything connects! Everything is a witness of the truth!
The thing that has really jumped out at me is the importance of Faith. Let me give some examples.
In James 1:5-6 it says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
So the question is, how can we ask in faith, so God will answer our prayers?
Let's see what the scriptures teach us. "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17)
So we see, faith without works are dead. Okay, but what are the works that must follow faith?
In the Book of Mormon, Alma teaches us that the word (What we learn, or what we our putting faith into) is like a seed. And as we show faith, or we nurture this seed with our works, giving it water, putting it in the sun, if the seed is good it will grow (Alma 32:26-43). So, if we put faith into the word, we will follow it, we will take care of it, and in this way we will show our faith, and if it is good, we will see the fruits.
The important part of this lesson, is that we must learn to have true faith. We can just say we believe without works. We must truly believe. We must feed that believe with water and sunlight, and them we will know if it is true. Another example is Matthew 7:20. Jesus Christ here is teaching us how to know if a prophet is true or false, and gives us the following answer, "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Now, let me ask you something going along with what we have discussed thusfar. If you have never tried a fruit, can you know if it's good by looking at it? The answer is no. If we what to know if a prophet is true, we must try their fruits. Which means exercising faith in them to see if the seed grows. We must eat the fruit to know if its good.
Now, Faith is the first principle of the Gospel. Without Faith, we can't go anywhere. We must exercise Faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel to progress and return to live with him. It is the only way. So to finish today I want to leave each and every one of you an invitation. Try the fruit! Nurture the seed! Let it grow! How do we do this? Trusting in God, keeping his commandments, following his ways.
And for you who ask, why do the Mormons believe in prophets? Was Joseph Smith really a true prophet? If you want to know, follow the advise of Christ himself. Our Savior and King. Try the fruit. Read the Book of Mormon. Come to Church. Pray and ask God for yourself, and in this manner I promise He will respond.
This is The Church of Jesus Christ! Of this I testify! He has at the head, and has called prophets once again to lead and guide his holy work. I love him! I testify of Him! And most of all, I invite all to come and Follow Him. Lets Follow Him together!
I love you all!

Try to be like Him
Hey everyone! Life is going well here in Honduras! I don´t have a lot of time today, so, sorry if my letter´s a little shorter then normal.
But we are doing well. We just keep working hard. The investigadors we have are doing well, but there progression has kind of slowed down. We really hope that we can help keep going. We did find a new family the other week that is excelent, there going to come to church yesterday, but got sick. They are reading the Book of Mormon, and really have a desire to know if what we are sharing is true. I also feel like they really understand what we are sharing.
I guess my moto for this week and my life is to keep working. I know that Jesus Christ has set the perfect example for each of us and we need to follow his example. Today we went to a waterfall with some youth and kids from the rama, and one of the girls, Annita got mad because another kid hit her with a stick. Well she felt justified (Like we all do at times) to hit him back. But afterwards I was talking to her, and asked her what Jesus would had done. She told me be nice. Afterwards we were able to talk a little about how we can follow the example of christ and love everyone, even when the treat us bad.
Afterwards I began to think in my mind about what I was teaching, and if I was truly applying the principle in my life. Are we really following the example of Jesus Christ?
I began to sing the primary song,
I´m trying to be like Jesus
I´m following in his ways
I watch for the day with gladness
when jesus will come again
at times I am tempted to make the wrong choice
but the Holy spirit enters into my voice saying
Love one another as Jesus loves you
Try to show kindness in all that you do
gentle and loving in deed and in thought
for these are the things Jesus tought
It is my hope and prayer that we all can follow the example of Jesus Christ. I know it´s difficult, but as we strive, as we struggle, as we pray, as we humble ourselves before God, he will help us change (Ether 12:27).
I love you all so much! I love this Gospel! I love our God!
