The Power of a Mother
Hey everyone! Life is so good here in Copan Ruinas! This has been an interesting week!
--
On thursday we had divisions with the ZL´s in La Entrada (1.5 hours away), then on Friday we had a zone Conference with President Bush, and then we had Interviews. We returned to Copan Runias friday night, worked saturday, and then sunday after church went to La Entrada again for a priesthood meating, and then returned. So as you can see we traveled a lot, and didn´t have a lot of time in the area.
It was a rough week with the work, but all is good! I was spirtually fed, and I am so grateful for all that I could learn, and hope that God we help me apply it and improve! I have fealt a great desire to recommit myself to be obedient! It really is so important, and sometimes I forget.
I love the mision so much! It has been such a growing process here in Copan Ruinas! I have learned so much, and am contunually learning! The big thing this week is that Yerlin and Franklin left for thier missions! Yerlin and Franklin are 2 great young men here in the rama! They are great examples, and great leaders! They have both had some troubles trying to leave with papers and visas, and all sorts of stufff, but now they are both going to start there missions here in Honduras, until all the paper work can be taken care off. I have learned so much from both of them, and am so grateful that I had the chance to know them!
But more then anything today, I want to give thanks and respect to all of the wonderful wowmen in the world! I am so amazed by the great example and faithfulness that women have in the Church of Christ! Starting with my Mother, my grandmothers, my sisters, my sister in-laws, and every other women who has made a difference in my life, down to these great exemplary mothers of Franklin and Yerlin! They are great examples to me!
I love the mission! I love the work of God! I know that this is his Church! I know that the scriptures are true! I am so happy! I love you all!
Thanks you all for everything you do!

The way to anything you desire!
Hey Everyone! I don`t even now where to start! I feel like I have been dropped into onother world!
--
I love it here in copan! It is so pretty, so peaceful, and so perfect! I was talking to my companion about how I would totally live here! It is actually a lot like Mountain View with a lot of people who work verry hard, and there are a lot of farms/ ranchers! But it is all in the mountains, and more troppicaly, not dry at all, and super fun! I love the people here, they are all verry good people, verry humble and verry friendly! My companion is super cool! We are getting along really well, and are working hard and enjoying the mision!
This sunday we had 5 investigadors in church, and 4 of those 5 are new! I am super excited about the work here! We also have one investigador with a date to be baptized in march! Right know here in this branch we really need leaders, so we have also decided to focus on working with members and less actives so that there can be prieshood holders to lead and guide the work. Our goal as missionaries is to not be in the branch presidency verry much longer. That is not our job, and the members need to be guiding the work. The members really are verry good, they just need to be trusted. I have been thinking a lot about the talk by president Uchtdorf while I have been here about Alma and Amulek, I think it is verry important that we trust in the members, and let God shape them into what he has planed.
I love the Gospel! I love it because we as men to make it, we don`t do anything! We follow the guidance of the spirit, we are instruments in the hands of the Lord! Jesus Christ is the head of the Church! He leads this Gospel, and as we follow him, trust in him all will be well!
I was blessed to speak in Church here in Honduras for the first time, and am so grateful for the Holy Ghost, that he is the teacher! I was able to share about something verry important, the Doctrine of Christ, and through the Holy Ghost I learned and shared, and I hope the members and those present learned as well!
I love the mision! I am so happy! I love teaching, and sharing about the gospel of Christ! I love sharing about CHRIST! He is our savior! He is the way! If we want to be happy, if we want to live with god, if we want to live with our families, if we want to have food, if we want to have success, it doesn`t matter what it is, Jesus Christ is the only way. He is our savior, he is the gift of our father, he is our brother, he is our lord! How merciful our father in heavan!
I love you all! And more importantly our Father in Heavan loves you all! If you ever doubt that truth remember Christ, he represents the love of God. I invite you all to show your gratitude to God by following the plan he has given us! Choose to have faith in him, choose to repent, choose to be baptized, recieve the Holy Ghost, and Choose to endure to the End, or in other words, as nephi tought us, "follow the example of Christ" (2 Nephi 31:16).
Have a wonderfuly fantastic day!

Become like Christ!
Hey everyone! I am doing awesome here in Honduras! This week has been prety crazy! Let's see, last monday night I got a call, and was told that I would have changes, so Tuesday I spent saying goodbye to a lot of people! It was sad, I am really going to miss everyone from la Smith! But then on Tuesday night I was packing my bags getting all my stuff ready, and wondering where I would be going, then at about 10 algo President Bush called me and told me about my assignment. We talked for about 15-20 minutes about what I needed to do. He told me a lot, but it was hard to imagine without being here. But Basically I was assigned as Compañero Mayor (I don`t know how to say that in english) and District Leader in Copan Ruinas. I am also a conselor in the Branch Presidency. Here in Copan it`s a branch of about 30-35 active members. There is a lot of work to do, and I feel very humbled at the trust that God has in me, and hope that I can do my best and be an intrument in the hands of the Lord. Wesnessday, I got on the Bus, and headed for Copan, I left at about 10, and didn`t arrive in my area until like 3. My new Companion is Elder Lozano. He is a great elder, he has 4.5 months, and has a great desire to work hard and do good! He is from Mexico! It is super pretty her in copan, but verry diferent from San Pedro Sula. It isn`t as humid, which is nice. It is basically like a village, it is kind of like I am hiking every day. I love it here!
There are alot of great people here in copan, and the members that there are a really good. More then anything I feel like this branch needs to have more trust in God, and in themselves! The Branch President is really good as well.
There are just 4 in the district. My companion and I, and the Hermanas, Hermana Mora, and Hermana Lund. We share an area with the hermanas. The district is awesome! They are all verry good, they all are working hard, and have great testimonios.
Yesterday we had an awesome opurtunidy to listen to Elder Christensen and Elder Alonzo, and there wifes, as well as President Bush and Hermana Bush, and the president of the east mission. It was so aweseome! I learned so much! I loved learning more about repentence and the importance of our personal conversion. I loved what Elder Christensen said, that repentance doesn`t mean that we make a list of all the bad things we do and repent of them, but that at the beggining and end of each day we evaluate our lives, we change, and we improve. As we change and become more like christ we are repenting!
I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I know that this is his church! I know that he loves us! I am so grateful for Christ and his atonement! I am so grateful for the opurtunidad to serve and be a missionary! I love being a missionary! I am so grateful that I can change and improve!
I am so grateful for each of you in my life! I love you all!

I don´t know exactly what to write about today... I have been thinking a lot about Repentance, and how we as missionaries can teach reptentance. It is something I am still continuing to study. Let´s see, I guess the big news is that changes are wednessday! I have spent my whole mission here in the smith, so it is most likely that I will have changes. It is actually really difficult. I love the area I am in, I love all the investigadors we have, and I love my Companion Elder Barrientos! But at the same time, if it´s God´s will, I am ready for change.
As for investigadors we are continually working hard! I was a little dissapointed again on Sunday, we only had 1 investigador in Church, but I need to be more positive, I was extatic, we 1 investigador in church! It has been a little sad, about a month ago we had 10 investigadors with a date, and now we don´t have any, but I know that the work of the Lord will go forth, and I just have to have Hope!
But yesterday we were teaching familia Caballero, and they expressed to us that they now in time they will be baptized, but they just are waiting with time. I think it is so interesting, that sometimes Satan try´s to make us feel that we are not ready, or we can do it tommorrow, but The Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about acting today. We can´t wait for tomorrow, because if we are always waiting for tomorrow, tomorrow will never arrive, we must act today, we must reppent and change! There is a talk by Jeffery R. Holland that talks about Change! He said, "It takes exactly as long to repent as it takes you to say "I´ll change," and mean it" He goes on and explains that the process to prove your repentance is the long part, but to repent is instintaneous! Sometomes satan likes to confuse us, make us feel like repentance is imposible, too hard to long, these are not thoughts of Christ! Christ gives us hope, love, through his atonement Repentance is always possible!
I love this gosple! I know that this is the church with the fulness of the Gospel! Too those who I love there are 3 things that I will say today, and for the rest of my life, 1- I love you, 2- God loves you, that is why he sent his son Jesus Christ, if you ever question Gods love think of Christ and his atonement! 3- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only Church here in the earth with the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and with his power and authority! Of this I testify and will testify until the day I die!
I love you all! I love this Gospel, I love being a missionary!
P.S - Sorry I haven´t sent pictures in forever! But here you go :)
