"Come unto me... and ye shall find rest"

Helo everyone! All is going well here in Honduras. I love this place. I can´t believe how fast time is flying by. This week was a good one. Truly Elder Mery and I have seen miracles and blessings. The Gospel of Jesus Christ in incredible. We have a family that we are teaching, and this week more members of the family joined us in the lessons and have shown great interest in know more about Jesus Christ and his perfect plan for us. We were also able to find some new people to teach who show a lot of interest in learning more about our savior and his gospel.

This week I have particuluraly felt the need we all have as children of God to fallow the example of Jesus Christ and become more like him. As I was studying the new testament I came across this scripture which is found in Matthew 11:28-30,

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

I love the invitation that our savior extends, inviting us first, to come unto him, second, to take his yoke upon us (The yoke of Christ is a symbol of being a desciple of Christ), or fallow him, and third, to learn of him. By doing these three things we will find rest unto our souls.

In John 5 a similar lesson is tought, "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"

By our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience unto him, or by following him and learning of him we begin to overcome the world, we begin to find rest unto our souls. The world in which we live in is full of challenges, strugles, temptations and all sort of things, yet when we put God first, when we believe in Jesus the Son of God and overcome the world we will find peace and Joy. The trials will remain, the world wont magically change, but we will change, and we will see things differently. This is our true purpose. To become pure and clean, to become saints.

It is for this very reason that the last invitation of the Book of Mormon by Moroni is as fallows, "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot" (Moroni 10:32-33).

I know and testify that God love us! He cares about us and is watching over us. I know that his plan is perfect and that through Jesus Christ and his gospel we can become what God wants us to become. We can be different. I know that by fallowing this plan and living his Gospel we will find Joy and happiness. "wickedness never was happiness" (Alma 41:10).

I love you all! I know these things are true!
