#lighttheworld

The work here in Puerto continues! We are being so blessed here in Puerto Cortes, and we are finding so many wonderful people who have been prepared to recieve the Gospel of Christ! Elder Chavarría and I are working hard, and all is well.

This year as members and disciples of Jesus Christ we are all invited to #lighttheworld with the light of Christ through 25 ways in 25 days. From the 1 of December until the 25th of December we are all invited to serve, lift and share of Christ light. Truly this is a great oppurtunity to bring the Joy and Light of Christ into a world that so desperately needs. My companion and I are extremely excited to light the world, and I invite you all to join us!

Why do we need the light of Christ? According to Gospel topics in lds.org we read, "The Light of Christ is the divine energy, power, or influence that proceeds from God through Christ and gives life and light to all things. The Light of Christ influences people for good and prepares them to receive the Holy Ghost" (Light of Christ).

I know that we all need the Light of Christ! I love you all! I know Jesus Christ lives! He is the light of the world! Jesus Chrsit said, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (John 8:12). Let us light the world but serving as Christ would serve, loving as Christ would love, and most importantly, inviting all to come unto Christ, that they shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

I love you all! Have a great week!

The JOY of the Gospel!

Helo everyone! Life is going absolutely fantastic! I love being a missionary, and can honestly say I have never been so happy! If I could explain the way I feel as I missionary, the way I feel when I teach of Christ, the way I feel when I feel the spirit in a lesson, the way I feel as I read and study the scriptures and learn of the Doctrine of Christ, I would use one word: JOY!

I love a scripture in The Book of Mormon that explains perfectly the way I feel, Alma says,

"I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do anot bglory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember awhat the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me" (Alma 29:9-10).

My Companion and I are being blessed, and truly God has permitted us to be an instrument in his hands to bring some souls to repentance. This week Jade Motiño, the Bishops sister was baptized! It was one of the most joyful experiences, and truly the Holy Ghost was manifested! Following the ordinance, The bishops son, Moises, and his girlfriend sang, and then Bishop and Jade shared there thoughts and feelings. The spirit was so strong, and it made all the sacrifice worth it!

After the Baptism I was talking to my companion. I told him, you know, after feeling the spirit so strong, and having such great joy to see people come unto Christ, it makes everything worth it. Leaving your family, your house, your friends, football, basketball, cars, movies, phones, girls. None of it really matters! The joy is so great! This week it has rained every day, and every day when we got home we were soked, and every day my feat got wet. They got so wet, that in the night I couldn´t wait to get to the house so I could take of my shoes and rest my feat. But after the Joy, the Joy that comes through repentance, it no longer mattered!

I love this Gospel with all my heat! I love each and every one of you! I know that the Joy and Happiness we are all looking for comes through repentance and fallowing Christ! This is truly the work of God! I´m sure of it! I know it! How? The spirit tells me, everytime I pray, every time I read the scriptures, every time I go to church, the spirit testifies the truthfulness of it! How can each of us now for ourselves? We must do the things that God tells us to, so the spirit can tell us it´s right. This is Faith! To act, to obey, to look for Christ by fallowing him. In this way, we invite and open our hearts to the spirit, and then we will know! I know these things are true! I love you all with all my heart! Thanks for all your prayers and support!

Hope for Eternal Life

This has been a excelent week! Truly I have been and am being so blessed as a missionary. I love serving the lord and his children. I love this gospel. The work is progressing wondrefully. Elder Chavarría and I are working so hard, and we are having great success. We found another great family this last week, and we are super excited to teach them more. This week we will have the Baptism of Jade Motiño, the sister of the bishop. She is so ready and excited to make this promise with God. We also have scheduled a baptism with Familia Sauceda! I am so excited for them. It has been a verry special expereince, because they have such a great desire to follow Christ, and as they read and pray, the spirit truly testifies to them of the truth of this Gospel!

I love missionary work! I love sharing this Gospel! I love the scripture in 2 Nephi 2:8, "Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, asave it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who blayeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the cresurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise." I am grateful that God has permitted me to be a part of this teaching. I am also extremely graterful for the restored Gospel, and the truths we have been given, and the knowledge of the true purpose of Christ suffereing, that we may all repent, come unto him and be perfected by our faith and repentance and by his grace.

As Moroni teaches, "Yea, acome unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God" (Moroni 10:32). I know that this is the purpose we have. God has sent us to this life, and has sent his only begotten son to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39) that we may be perfected, that we may become like him!

I feel such gratitud and humility to feel the love of God, and such a great desire to improve. I truly love the Gospel! I love our Father in Heavan! I love my Savior! I know that these things are true. All God asks of us is that we have faith in his Son Jesus Christ, trust and fallow him, repent of our sins, make and keep covanents (Promises) and endure, being faithful until the end.

Do we trust God? Do we trust Christ? Are we willing to put our faith and hope in his "Great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life" (2 Nephi 2:28)?

I testify and believe with all my heart the words of Moroni, "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God" (Ether 12:4).

Let us have Faith, and therefore hope for a better world. Even a perfect world, where we may partake of eternal life! I love you all! This is true! I know these things are true!

Testimony

Helo everyone! This has been a great and busy week! This week we had our Zone Conference, and also another reunion in San Pedro. They were great, and once again we were able to learn so much. As for the work it is continuing to advance. Truly we have seen miracles, and have seen how the leard leads us to those whom are prepared to recieve his restorered gospel.

We are working verry hard with Family Brown, Family Lozano Sol, Family Sauceda, Family Motiño and José Roberto. This week we had a lot of them come to church. It is such a blessing and brings such great Joy to see the people with whom we are working feel the spirit and have thier faith grow. I love these people so much! I love sharing the Gospel.

Truthfully there is som much work to do! There are so many people who need to learn and hear of the Church of Christ. I am privlaged and grateful to a part of this work. I love my savir Jesus Christ! I love being a misionary.

Yesterday in Church we had our fast and testimony meating, and many people shared thier testimony of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. Today I would like to share my testimony.

I know that Jesus Chrsit is my Savior. I know that my Father in Heavan lives. He created a perfect plan for each of us that we might be happy and have joy. This plan includes this life, and the necesity of a savior, even Jesus Chrsit. I know that only through Faith and Repentance in his name can we find the happiness and joy that our father in Heavan hopes and prayes that we find. I know that all prophets from the beggining of times have been called of God to teach this plan and invite all humankind to repent and folllow christ. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are evidence of the profetic calling, and I know that today we having living prophets who do the same. They testify of Christ and teach the plan of Salvacion and invite us to follow him.

I know that these things are true! I love you all!

Trust, Love, and Stay Firm through The Book of Mormon

Hey everyone! I hope all is going well for each of you. As for me all is excelent! Elder Chavarría and I are working hard as ever. We thoroughly enjoyed the General Conference and the words of our inspired leader. I am so grateful for the prophets and apostles and that God has called them in this work, and he leads and directs them that they may guide us in this lifes Journy back to our Heavanly Home.

My Companion and I have continued to talk with all those we can to share this special Gospel message with the world, and continue to work with those who have a true and sincere desire to learn and humbly follow Christ. A cool story of this week is on Friday Elder Chavarría and I were walking down the street when we saw an older couple sitting outside there house and we felt the impresion to stop and speek with them. We asked if we could rest and speak with them a little, and sat down and started to talk. We ended up talking about the Book of Mormon and the key role it plays in the restoration of the truth of the Doctrine of Christ and a powerful testimony of Him. They showed a lot of interest, and the Spirit was verry strong. We invited them to the General Conference to listen to the Prophets and Apostles of Christ in these latter days, they said they would come Sunday Morning. Then on Sunday they came, and after the session they said, "We loved it! We will be here again next week!" Elder Chavarría and I are so excited for them, and we know they have truly felt the spirit. I know there are so many people who are prepared to recieve this Gospel, and all people need it. I truly love my Savior, and I love our God! He has truthfuly created a amazing plan, and has offered as everything through his mercy and love. Elder Chavarría and I are seeing so many miracles, and we will continue to work! We had a lot of people come to the Conference, and we are grateful to our Father in Heavan who has permited us to help bring his children home.

As for the Conference. This was a spiritual feast (Manjar)! I love the General Conference! I was able to learn so much and feel the spirit, and I know that these men have been called of God to lead his Church in the last days. For me personaly there are 3 points to this conference that stood out,

1: Trust in the Lord and Fallow him.
2: Turn outward through Charity and Service.
3: The Book of Mormon is the Key.

I feel that truly God trust us so much, but we are so slow to put our full trust in him, this includes full trust in those he calls in his work. I also enjoyed the words of Elder Chrsitofferson who shared the scripture, "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him" (John 6:48, 56). He then went on to teach, "To eat His flesh and drink His blood is a striking way of expressing how completely we must bring the Savior into our life—into our very being—that we may be one"

It also called my atention the verry many times we were tought about the importance in Serving to truly show Christilike love, also know as Charity. I loved what Elder Alonso said , "Love without service is like faith without works; it's dead indeed." I also think that Sister Oscarson was inspired as she tought us to begin our service with those all around us, she tought, "How much value is there in fixing the world if the people around us are falling apart and we don't notice? Heavenly Father may have placed those who need us closest to us, knowing that we are best suited to meet their needs." We have so many opurtunities to serve each and every day. We just need to take the time to look around us and love our fellow men.

I also loved the focus that was put on the Book of Mormon and follow up from what President Thomas S. Monson tought last Conference. I enjoyed most thoroughly the Promise and testimony given by President Nelson, "My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life." I know that this promise is true. I also enjoyed the words of Elder Callister who tought, "The Book of Mormon is not only the keystone of our religion, but it can also become the keystone of our testimonies so that when trials or unanswered questions confront us, it can hold our testimonies securely in place." In these days we need to continue and stay firm. Satan is working harder then ever to bring misery and sadness into our lifes, and the Book of Mormon is the key to keep us firm in the only path that leads to true and everlasting happiness.

I bear my solemn testimony that these men are and have been called of God. That the words they spoke were truly the words that Christ himself feels we need. I testify that Jesus Christ is the savior of the World, that God is our Father, and The Holy Ghost will lead us and guide us home if we will yield to his enticings and put of the natural man. I testify that the Priesthood Power has been restored so the Atoning Power of Jesus Christ can be accessible. I believe and know these things to be true!

I love each and every one of you with all my heart!
